From Training to Platform Engineering: Rojan's Journey at empiriecom

When Rojan thinks back on his apprenticeship at empiriecom, what stands out most in his memory is the freedom to try new things, to familiarize himself with different topics, and to learn something new every day.

There is one thing in particular that has stuck with him from his time in training: learning was truly the focus.
On September 1, 2023, Rojan began his three-year apprenticeship with us as an IT specialist for application development.
Time and again, he had the opportunity to explore new topics—even beyond his day-to-day work. This allowed him to gain experience and gradually discover which topics interested him most. It was precisely this freedom that made all the difference for Rojan. He had the time to ask questions, find his own solutions, and develop at his own pace.
When asked what advice he would give to future apprentices, Rojan doesn’t have to think twice:
"Stay curious and try to solve problems on your own first. It often helps to do some research on your own or just Google it before asking an AI right away. That way, you not only learn the solution, but also understand why something works."
Rojan’s journey shows just how important freedom can be for personal development. For us, a good education is about one thing above all else: placing trust in people, giving them responsibility, and supporting them as they find their own path.
